We are so excited to begin offering yet another variety from the group of improved heirloom dry bean varieties from UC Davis (from breeders Travis Parker and Paul Gepts), UC Tiger's Eye!
 
You may already be quite familiar with the original Tiger's Eye, which is a beloved heirloom cultivar of Andean origin. This improved version retains all of the beauty of the original cultivar, but with additional resistance to Bean Common Mosaic Virus (BCMV). This variety was developed under organic management, and yields over 25% higher than the original heirlom variety. 
 
We love the compact vining habit of this bean, and are consistently blown away at the fast, high yields it produces. If you're looking for a dry bean that produces a lot in a small area, and is a show-stopper in the kitchen, this is it. 
 
This bean does best with trellising.
